It was with great regret and sadness that I learned of the passing of Mr. Samih Darwazah. On behalf of all Astellas friends and staff, please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I know he will be greatly missed. His engagement, enthusiasm and vision always enriched our business discussion and decisions. With the highest respect, I honor his life and work dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry around the world. I still remember his hard work to establish the company in the 1970’s. When I met him, he always mentioned that the former Fujisawa was the first overseas partner of Hikma. I am very proud that we have been working together for more than 40 years.
