What I admire so much about Mr. Darwazah is that even in the tough times, and in the first years of Hikma Portugal there were many, he never lost his sense of humour, a clear sign of how intelligent he was. Only the intelligent have a sense of humour! I believe that the most important lesson I learnt from Mr. Darwazah was simplicity. He was the most powerful yet simplest person I ever had the privilege to meet and, without a doubt he positively influenced both my professional and personal life. Hikma means wisdom and for me it means Samih Darwazah, a wise and great man in all that he did. I’m certain that his descendants and employees will know how to give continuity and honour his legacy. Mr. Darwazah will be forever in my heart as one of my dearest friends.
